Gone to picnic at harihareshwar on 26 th January 2013.was amazing place.enjoyed a lot.





















Harihareshwar is a small town surrounded by hills and beaches along the Konkan border in the Raigad District of Maharashtra. it  is an ideal weekend getaway from Mumbai as it is located around 200 km away.  It is situated where River Savitri merges with the Arabian Sea from the town of Harihareshwar.

History of Harihareshwar
The history of Harihareshwar belongs to the period when the Peshwas of the Maratha kingdom ruled Harihareshwar. The destination is surrounded by four hills that are named after the deities including Bramhadri, Harihareshwar, Harshinachal and Pushpadri. 

It is mostly inhabited by Hindus, who celebrate festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali and Maha Shivaratri. 

 The town is considered as a sacred place by Hindus as Devghar, the main temple, is believed to be blessed by Vishnu.

Travellers can visit Harihareshwar during the months of October and March when the weather conditions are pleasant and ideal to explore the destination. 

A land beleived to be blessed by Vishnu according to legends and proclaimed as 'devghar', Harihareshwar and the Harihareshwar temple is of foremost importance relegiously. Promulgated as the 'Dakshin Kashi' Harihareshwar with its temple complex with deities of Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma along with the temples of Kalbhairav and Yogeshwari is an important pilgrim centre and is chiefly responsible for exhalting harihareshwar as a tourist destination!

Harihareshwar Temple is one of the most popular tourist attractions, which is built on an elevated spot between two small hills. Another attraction is the Harihareshwar Beach, where tourists can also enjoy boating.
